MPCC Worship: Music Theory Class

Ephesians 4 tells us that we are to, “equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” (NIV)

In addition to the Biblical equipping you receive at MPCC we want to add some practical training as well.

MUSIC THEORY CLASS

Dr. Brenda Clark

Dr. Brenda Clark is a member of our team who is the Director of Music Education Programs at the University of Indianapolis. She is a wonderful lady and has volunteered to teach a music theory class here at MPCC.

I want every member of our team to attend these classes. They will involve completely new information for many and serve as a great reminder for others. Every single one of us can use this information to be a more effective minister, servant and team member.

Having trouble reading our Band charts? Come. Trouble holding your part on the Vocal Team? Come. Want to learn more about how to read your part in the choir? Come. Need help understanding how to read music? Come.

These classes will be offered in the CHAPEL, from 7:30pm-8:30pm on the following Wednesdays:

  • May 11
  • May 18
  • May 25

If you have a laptop with wireless internet access, please bring it with you. Or, if you have an iPad or some other tech with wireless access bring that.

This is a chance for us to be taught by someone who teaches music theory for a living. Very few churches in the entire country will have this kind of opportunity. We are asking every member of our team to please plan to attend.

This is awesome, Brian. We don’t actually know each other, but we are FB friends and I am impressed with your church’s worship ministry. Just wanted to say, thanks for having a vision for your musicians and encouraging them to be their best. You church isn’t looking for more staff in the worship arts department, are they?

Hey Amy – Thanks for the encouragement. We are so humbled & grateful for how God is at work here. We are working hard to see God glorified and lives transformed.

We are pretty set right now on staff. If that changes I will let you know.

    Blessings for a great Easter!
