Video Blog: “The Story” Week 7 “The Battle Begins”
We are a few weeks into “The Story” at MPCC and it has been a rich experience for our church. The Story is a 30+ week walk through the major themes of the Bible. Each week takes the congregation through a Biblical story and then looks at it from 2 points of view:
- The Upper Story – God’s view and what He is doing as He sees the whole picture. “Above and around us, God directs a grander saga – written by His hand, orchestrated by His will, unveiled according to His calendar. His ‘Upper Story’ details His plan of redemption. He is creating an eternal people for an eternal place.” – Max Lucado
- The Lower Story – Our perspective on life and what we can see and understand God to be doing. To fully understand the Lower Story, we need to look at them in the context of the Upper Story and know that God always has something greater in store for us.
This past week, we looked at the book of Joshua, rich with incredible stories of God at work in the lives of His people. Each week we are recording video devotionals for our congregation (written by Andrew Philbeck, our Young Adult Pastor). I had the opportunity to record this week’s devotional. Here it is.
