Worship Matters – Easter 2010

It’s Wednesday, April 7th and I am still soaring over Easter weekend at MPCC. I really am so grateful for our team and how it is growing. People with tremendous gifts are joining our team and I am so excited to see what the future holds. These are days of tremendous anticipation!

As a person who plans worship I am regularly faced with a challenge. On bigger weekends like Easter, we work for months on the service, asking God to inspire us and help us to craft special moments of dynamic and meaningful worship. After those months of prayer, [meetings and planning sessions, we begin to include people who will play and sing the music & work on the technical details…..set the stage up, etc. These are great people but they haven’t been walking with you for all of these weeks as you have planned and prayed, all the while working on little details in your mind of how certain parts of the service need to happen.

Sometimes involving others makes the moments better. Sometimes they don’t happen exactly the way you want them to.

I can say, without hesitation, that this past weekend in our services every single moment that happened exceeded my expectations! I have been planning and leading worship for nearly 20 years now and I don’t know that I can remember very many services like that. I always come away with something that could have worked better, something I could have planned more carefully, etc. But, this past weekend I came away more excited and thrilled than ever.

Great job everyone! 4 services in 2 different venues. Lives impacted. Believers encouraged. People introduced to Christ for the very first time. Bulls Eye.

Here are some pictures from Easter 2010 at MPCC. Great job team!! HE IS RISEN!!!!!
